Press the Volume Up button and the Volume Down button. After some time, release it. Next, press the side button until you get an apple logo on the screen.

The next critical step is to go over your phone for any obvious damage that might signal a hardware problem. Even if it was only a week ago, fluids spilled on the phone might potentially prevent it from turning on. Is there any water damage or cracking on the screen? Examine the jack (where you plug it in) for any moisture, fluff, or other things that might be the source of the problem. Restore iPhone with iTunes
